I’m not sure if this is an “old” news. But I just recently found out that Chikka has a competitor — big time!. Yahoo! 2SMS thru the Yahoo Instant Messenger can now send SMS messages to any Globe and Smart cellphones. Similar to Chikka’s business model, there is a P2.50 charge when a user replies to the message. One big difference, though, is that Yahoo is more transparent than Chikka as far as charges are concerned. They will send a notification (of charging P2.50 for replying) first before they send the actual message.

All the while, I thought there are only two SSL Certificate providers — Verisign and Thawte. Both cost more than $300 a year. Thru a request by a client to research, I found out that there’s a cheap alternative — InstantSSL. Not bad for $49/year! And according to WhichSSL.com, InstantSSL has a better technology which provides faster issuance of certificate transactions — in English, your site is faster using this certificate than with the big 2. It sounds biased because the editor of the site is InstantSSL themselves. :-) They are objective enough to make a sound decision, though.
