Exactly 19 years ago, Ninoy

Exactly 19 years ago, Ninoy Aquino was killed at the tarmac of the then Manila Internation Airport. He was one of the strongest influences in the opposition party against the Marcos Administration. He relentlessly exposed and revealed all the graft and corruption happening behind the curtains of politics; thus, he became the archrival of Ferdinand Marcos during the Martial Law era. His life was abruptly ended as he deplaned from a China Airlines flight from Boston by a couple of bullets through his head. His death sparked a series of revolutions against the administration leading to the EDSA Revolution of 1986.

Probably one of the most significant event in the history of the Philippines in the last century, his death still influences Philippine politics.

Max Lucado has been instrumental in my born again experience. He is the one that successfully expounded the love and grace of God in a manner that can be understood by the heart of men.

For Max Lucado fans like me, and for those who have been following “his next release” – he publishes a book every year – here’s the latest — A Love Worth Giving.

It has been a common challenge by SDA ministers to offer money to anybody who can show from a Bible text that the Sabbath day has been abolished. Well, if you are interested, you are going to enjoy this.

On December 14, 1949, an Adventist pastor named David F. Smith published an invitation for anybody to show a Bible text that shows Sunday should be observed by Christians and that Sabbath has been abolished already — for $200! Well, $200 back then should have cost a lot already. The next week, he received, via a published article, an answer to his challenge!

It all started in a $200 bet, it ended in a formal written debate. The lengthly conversation is posted here:
The $200 Text — I have not read it all yet, but it seemed really interesting.

I love PHP. But sometimes, due to inevitable situations (like clients whose ‘Windows’ to the world are only that of Microsoft’s), I’m kinda forced to use ASP. Just for comparison purposes, here’s something for you: 7 Reasons Why PHP is Better than ASP. Am I biased for something or what?
