My pastor is a blogger

You Grace Placers out there, take this! Who says Kuya Prudy is not a techie? You can start eating your words now, huh. ;-) Our pastor is blogging, yeah!

His first post is very interesting, very halloween. Check it out. And check it out often, k?

Here you go, Kuya Prudy’s blog – http://prud.blogs.friendster.com/nailed/

How to deal with how you feel, and some.

Ahh… waiting for a meeting. Got some extra time to blog. Whee!

We’re going to start a new exciting series at Grace Place this Sunday entitled “How to Deal With How You Feel”. It’s going to be very interesting because Kuya Prudy is a Psychologist by profession. And what happens when you combine psychology with spirituality? You got it — psycho-spiritual approach to human emotional hang-ups. We’re going to learn how to handle depression, regret, worry, resentfulness, disappointment, among others. I’m going to post later a more detailed information about this series.

As part of our preparation for the new series, I’m editing a video clip for the worship. Being on Mac, I’d say, it’s hard and easy at the same time. Nonetheless, it’s fun. The tools I used:

Handbrake – great DVD extraction too.

iMovie – I wanted to try Apple’s Final Cut Pro. I saw it, but it does look complicated for me at this point. I went back to the simple, basic iMovie. It works for me.

MPEG Streamclip – for converting huge iMovie file to a compressed mpeg file.

This Halloween season is no vacation for us. The family is moving to another location. Oh, well, just within Mandaluyong still. Nonetheless, the thought of moving still hunts me. The new place is great — very fitted for the growing family, and I’m sure we’re going to enjoy it. But, nah, the next couple of weeks? It’s going to be war zone!

Speaking of moving, I’m also praying for my team at the office to be moved to a bigger room. We’re 18 in number now. It’s kind of clumped up already. So, there, the thought of moving, again, hunts me.

Did I mention it’s going to be fun and inspiring this Sunday at Grace Place? Ah, yes I did. Anyways, if you’re from Grace Place, this is the best time to bring a friend who are hurting or needing some company. If you’re near Makati area, we invite you visit us this Sunday for a free coffee and munchkins, live praise band, and a message that is relevant and inspiring.

Inspirations

When you’re small, you need inspirations to follow, mentors to walk you through the dark alleys and help you solve puzzles.

This thing that we we’re doing right now called church planting, or the more proper term church pioneering — we’re all newbies here. We went through the entire process of launching Grace Place last September 3 with no formal training — from seminaries or otherwise. All passion for the lost. Desire to glorify God and obedience to his vision.

I have to admit though that, while we didn’t have formal church startup training, we didn’t exactly did it on our own. We did receive inspirations from people of huge faith and leadership skills. Spiritual giants like Rick Warren of the famous Purpose Driven Life (his book “The Purpose Driven Church” is our “textbook”) and locally, Peter Tanchi of Christ’s Commission Fellowship (we watched him lead a 10,000+ congregation, was inspired by their humble beginnings at a garage with a handful of people, and received several training on church leadership and small group strategies). (more…)

Who says church can’t be exciting and inspiring?

If you’re looking for energy, inspiration and relevant church experience on Sunday morning, we offer you Grace Place. Grace Place is a non-denominational* Christian church that speaks your language — the yuppie – your life’s concerns, struggles, emotional and relational needs. And most especially, it makes God come alive in your life in a relevant way. Church need not be boring and a routine, it can also be exciting and inspiring.

We’re launching this Sunday, September 3, 2006. I’d like to invite you to be my guest. Meet new friends. Worship in high energy acoustic music. Hear an inspiring message. Be energized to face another tiring week. We’re meeting at Tiara Oriental Hotel (near Makati Post Office, beside Makati Fire Station). Service starts at 10:30 am. Hope to see you there!

*non-denominational, meaning, we don’t have bias for or against any religious persuasions. Whether you are a Roman Catholic, a Protestant, Born-again – you are welcome to explore and be blessed by the service. We have only one goal — to make people understand and experience God’s loving-kindness.

Answering Life’s Toughest Questions

To kick off, we’re starting a new message series entitled “Answering Life’s Toughest Questions”.

If you have time to talk with God, what will you ask Him? Why was I born? Why am I struggling with my relationships, finances and work? Can I just know what my future will be? What will happen after I die? These are BIG questions of life and god has straight from His heart answers to those. At Grace Place, we will explore these answers. Join us this Sunday — no question is too tough!

Sept 3 – What is the point of life?
Sept 10 – How can I be happy?
Sept 17 – How can I make the most of my time?
Sept 24 – Why isn’t life fair?
Oct 1 – What happens after I die?
Oct 8 – How much money is enough?
Oct 15 – Why should I work so hard?
Oct 22 – How do I face the future?

Join us for a morning of fun, cool worship music and a message that inspires:

Time: Sundays at 10:30 am
Place: Tiara Oriental Hotel
Malugay St., Makati City
(at the back of Makati Post Office)

(Child care provided)

If you have some questions, please don’t hesitate to email me back. Thank you and hope to see you this Sunday.
