I understand the frustration. Politicians don’t know what they are doing. Getting the INC endorsement doesn’t always translate into votes or a win in an election. They’re still a minority but the holiday is surely a step forward in the attempt to make them more mainstream and equally acceptable like Catholicism.

I understand what this blog is about. The one we are pointing about is why declaring it a holiday and making it a signed law in congress.

I think the only problem ay yung timing ng pagdeclare ng holiday. Yes election is near but I dont think it is not the main reason why the government is making sipsip para ideclare July 27 as Iglesia Ni Cristo day(actually walang magandang timing dahil kahit pre or post-election they still put malice in making it a holiday). 95 years is not too short for a native Filipino Religion w/c originate here in the Philippines. And even all the success the church achieved is not that simple and deserved to be recognized as a very pinoy achievement. So no problem in making july 27 as a holiday. And about the other religions who also deserve to have a holiday theres no problem about it. As long as they have all the requirements making there own founding date as a holiday even they dont do “bloc voting”.

And about “bloc voting” (as you defined) is our religious practice of unity (and it does not limit only in voting). We prioritize the values we do in unifying in things we do as our way of Praising God than the results others are expecting. (pangalawa na lang sa amin kung manalo yung inendorse namin na kandidato ang mahalaga ay ang pagkakaisa). So we dont expect all the candidates we vote to win. And believe it or not it is what we are and what we do. (I wont blame others kung yun pa rin ang iniisip nila about sa amin basta I just expressed my feeling and Faith)

About the other comments na nakikiholiday kami ng hindi namin holiday (xmas etc…)those holidays are already declared a long time ago and it is not our decision kung gawin nilang me pasok yung mga yun o wala. Most of us even having worship service on Sundays and Thursdays we still manage to fulfill our responsibilities on our church and our work. (So an action of one of the member and making it general to all is understandable but still stupid. :D Peace..!). About Mr. Soriano and our Ka Erdy having a debate please be sure you know all the details. Dont always hide with the excuse of us harassing and using influences cause it wont help. (sa youtube me kaharap ng Ministro si Mr. Soriano but he still declines on a discussion).

I was pertaining to the comment of brother jayson sorreda and not to Mr. Arnold Gamboa.

I stand corrected in that part.

And additional comment for me: it was declared a holiday not because of the number of members our church have (Mr arnold is right about other religious organization surpassing our own numbers). We must not talk about numbers of conggregation or members but what part the Iglesia takes on our own history. From a small start until what it is today is not only an achievement of the Iglesia but also by our nation because this church is truly Filipino in nature.

I hope I didn’t missed the meaning of you blog but like you I’m also pissed off with the current administration. The only thing some of my brethren are arguing about is whats wrong in an “Iglesia Ni Cristo Day”. And even we say that the motive of the politicians are the one we are talking about in this blog it is still unfair for telling its not a good action(or sounds like that) for our politicians in passing this law even we know that they are just getting the church’s sympathy.

Ramadan of our fellow muslims are recognized already as a non-working holiday so I hope an “Iglesia Ni Cristo Day” making a special working holiday doesn’t hurt.

First, ano ba ang mga dahilan o mga bagay na naging dahilan ng pamahalaan para itulak ang batas na nagdedeklara ng national holiday para sa Iglesia Ni Cristo? Natural may mga pamantayan para maisabatas ang isang bagay bago ito gawing legal at ideklara sa buong bansa bilang isang batas!!!
Maaaring gawing pamantayan ang mga kontribusyon ng isang tao o isang organisasyon na naiambag nito sa bansa at sa mga mamamayan nito.
Hindi natin maikakaila na ang Iglesia NI Cristo sa pangunguna ng Pamamahala nito ay naging bahagi na ng buhay ng maraming Pilipino lalong lalo na kung ang pag-uusapan ay tungkol sa buhay espiritual. Alam din natin na ang Relihiyong ito ay ang tanging samahang panrelihiyon na nagsimula sa isang mahirap na bansa, ang Pilipinas, ay ang tanging Relihiyon na lumaganap sa buong mundo. The outcome last July 27 INC grand anniversary rain or shine kitang kita ang mga kaanib sa iglesia na masigasig na nakilahok sa pagdiriwang na ito.kahit 2% lang ang population ng INC dito sa Pilipinas sa naganap na anibersaryo ng Iglesia ramdam naman ng buong pilipinas ang naging aktibidad na ito.

The outcome last July 27 INC grand anniversary rain or shine kitang kita ang mga kaanib sa iglesia na masigasig na nakilahok sa pagdiriwang na ito.kahit 2% lang ang population ng INC dito sa Pilipinas sa naganap na anibersaryo ng Iglesia ramdam naman ng buong pilipinas ang naging aktibidad na ito.

Minaliit ng iba ang pagdiriwang na ito subalit napakaraming nagrereklamo noong araw ng July 27 sa sobrang trapik hindi lamang sa Metro Manila maging sa mga probinsya.

Ang 2% na population ng INC hindi pa ba sapat para kami ay magkaroon ng Holiday?

Maliit man ang bilang subalit marami na rin
ang nai-ambag ng Iglesiang ito sa ating bansa kaya marapat lamang na bigyan din kami ng pagkilala sa ating pamahalaan.

Well, for me the INC deserves the Holiday that has been given to them by the Goverment. Siguro na-realized lang din ng Goverment natin na malaki ang naging contribution ng INC to the annals of the Philippine History. Since this Church, as what Filipino Freedom is saying, INC is truly a Filipno achievement and is truly a Filipino Church. Kung magkakaroon nga lang din ng chance yung ibang tao na mabasa o malaman ang History ng INC im sure llke me, magiging interested din sila sa INC. Hindi lang yung History ang interested as well as yung mga teachings and doctrines that they are upholding. Its purely biblical. And like Mr.Arnold Gamboa, i have alot of friends who are affiliated with the INC and they really good people, interesting people. Thatswhy if i will be asked by someone if the INC deserve to have a national holiday i will surely agreed on that saying “They really is”. So Congratulations to all INC members!

Anyways, I am glad that every Saturday, the world over,16 million Adventists celebrates God’s non-working special day just as he commanded it. So palagay ko okay lang kahit na Malacanang turns us down for the request since we already celebrate God’s greatness, goodness for a whole day every 7th day of the week.

if the government is really sincere in giving holidays to religious groups then why not make a holiday for ADD? baptist? el shaddai? mormons? adventist? and every other religion here in our country… just to be fair…

if they do that, the only question that will remain is this: who should decide what religion would get their hoilday?? (i'm pretty sure INC member will oppose an ADD holiday..)
