My first Paypal transaction

As I mentioned before, I see a great potential that Paypal is bringing in as far as Philippine ecommerce is concerned.

I’m kind of documenting the success (or failure) of Paypal here in the Philippines. And I’m taking the risk — I’m trying it myself without precedents. Yesterday, I received my first transaction from a client abroad. Then I transfered the amount to my Unionbank EON account. Paypal notes that this transaction will be completed in 5 to 7 days. I’m going to wait and report here.

Anyone who has done this ahead of me? How did it go?

    Hi Greg. I was charged $5 for receiving the transaction and another $5 for transferring the funds to my Unionbank EON card.

    I also heard there’s a $500 limit for every transfer from PayPal. Compared to wire transfer from abroad to a local bank, is still cheaper?

    You are correct on that Greg. In my assessment, it is cheaper to have it delivered in a US account and have it wired here. The problem is on getting a US bank account. There are work arounds, but if it will involve huge amount of money, I will think twice.

    Well, last year 2008 … I have finally verified my paypal account with the help of Unionbank’s EON CARD and to tell you how’s my first paypal transaction. Nah, its perfectly fine working…

    but then after few months, when I decided to withdraw my funds to my bank account, I had this problem na they can’t transfer my funds to my bank account because of my Bank Account information. Err. Anyways, these happens twice already and after than di ko na winithdraw ng funds ko to Paypal to bank account. Ang ginawa ko, Paypal to credit/debit account at ayun it worked naman un nga lang $5 ang fee nya kapag iwiwithdraw unlike sa Paypal to bank account, 50pesos lang. ^__^

    Well, last year 2008 … I have finally verified my paypal account with the help of Unionbank’s EON CARD and to tell you how’s my first paypal transaction. Nah, its perfectly fine working…
