Dollar hits 46. Pity party, anyone?

While most of the Philippines rejoice for the continued strengthening of dollar vs. peso, exporters like us are mourning.

Every peso lost versus the hard earned dollar equals loss in thousands of pesos that could have been given to a new employee who needs a job. Imagine how business for us outsource contractors will be like if dollar stayed at 55 just like a year ago.

Oh, well, can’t make everyone happy.

I know what you mean. Economics can’t please everyone, and right now, the folks earning in dollars – us included – are reeling.

Hayy… I hope there will be some sort of balance to protect the other economic players.
