I voted for this guy, primarily because I believe that a Christian of integrity is best fitted as a president. Now, after finishing last in the election, this brother in Christ is starting to irritate me.
He and his Bangon Pilipinas Movement started calling for President Arroyo to resign. Not only that, he wanted what he call a “revolutionary government”, not recognizing the vice president as a constitutional successor because according to him, the last election was a failure anyway.
A recent radion interview ran this way.
DZBB: Bro.
Bro. Eddie: Ang bayan ang magdedesisyon nyan.
Who will decide? The people? How? As far as I know, the only way to ask the people who they want to govern is thru the election. But they don’t believe in our COMELEC. So they want to establish a new “COMELEC”. Who will establish a new COMELEC if no one is leading? Who will appoint? The care takers? But there isn’t any care takers! How can we know who the caretakers will be? Thru the people? Ang gulo.
Last week, he had a “prayer rally”. I saw him on TV mimicking his election speech. “Kailangan natin ng mga mamumuno na walang vested interest, walang pinagkakautangan ng loob, may moral will…” blah, blah, blah… As if he was pointing to himself, at least according to him. So does he now want to be the care taker?
And, he is now calling for people to go to EDSA. For a prayer rally? Or to try to mobilize his supposed 3 million supporters? (Btw, his total national votes never reached 3 million)
I’m willing to be corrected by my brothers in Christ for openly rejecting Bro. Eddie. But, really, if he continues to do this while using the name of God in his rallies, he is misrepresenting the entire evangelical community.
Speaking of evangelicals, let it be known that other evangelicals are not supporting his stand and his cause. I heard in DZAS, the recognized official evangelical radio station in Manila, the other night their official stand. And it does not come close to his.
