True Happiness

Last night, Joyce and I watch the movie Kung Ako Nalang Sana (If I Were The One). A story of two college best friends, played by two of the most popular actors in the Philippines, Aga Muhlach and Sharon Cuneta, who are unknowingly in-love with each other. At the end, as a “feel good” movie, the two finally kissed after two (2) decades of courtship. [Can I pass as a movie reviewer? :-) ]

One line caught my attention. Emmy (Sharon), being a successfull businesswoman, said “I don’t know why I’m not happy. I can do anything except being happy.” Of course, the plot of the movie is to say that she will find happiness by marrying her best friend, Vince (Aga).

It’s a movie, I know. But I believe such things happen in real life. People are unhappy. They try to find happiness thru relationships, careers and even within themselves. I just came into thinking that even Emmy marriend Aga and “found happinesss”, if the movie would go on for another hour thru their married life, Vince as a chickboy in the movie, will most likely have an affair. :-) If that happens, Emmy is unhappy again.

Funny, but it can be a real life story. I’m not an expert in relationships, but I know that neither relationships nor carreers nor anything else can provide long lasting, permanent happiness. Emmys — that’s us — should find happiness somewhere else, or from Someone else.
